As today is the anniversary of my 33rd trip around the sun, I wanted to reminisce and say thanks.
My 26th birthday was a rather nice one. It was on a Monday, and all of my friends had to work, so we made plans for later that week. My friend Becky, who was free, insisted on taking me out so I could celebrate on my birthday. We went to Dallas BBQ in the East Village for dinner, and finished off the night at Cheap Shots (which is now closed). I chose Cheap Shots as patrons drank for free on their birthday, and I was broke. I had three Long Island Iced Teas, and we were on our way. It was a great evening.
Becky, I want to say thank you. You were such a great friend to me when I moved here, and it helped smooth the transition that can often be so rocky. I know we don’t see each other but maybe once a year, but you are an incredible person, and I never forget that.
