256 Dookie Train Part II – Come up smelling like roses.

Monday I wrote THIS about the Dookie Train incident (me stepping in human feces on the subway platform), and I happened to mention that I was wearing Dansko clogs. I tagged the company in my post, just to express that I ruined a pair of really nice shoes, and then didn’t think any more about it.

I received a comment on my blog from Dansko asking for my email address. I emailed them and received this in return:

I felt so badly for you when I came across your post… I’d love to turn your day around by offering a pair of your choosing, on us 🙂

Let me know what you think!

Take care,

Dansko Marketing

I broke down in tears. I wrote back and explained to Diana how she had made my month as my aunt just died, my husband had to have emergency surgery last week, and on top of it I ruined my favorite pair of shoes. Overwhelmed is not an adequate enough word to describe my feelings.

I have always loved my Dansko clogs, and I will continue to support a company that offers a fantastic product and willingly reaches out with kindness asking for nothing in return. New York City, can take a lot out of a person, and I live for moments like this.

My shoes arrived and I am so very thankful. Thank you Diana, and thank you Dansko! You are truly a class act.

  1. Reading this just sort of made my day. I freaking LOVE when something like this happens and then it sort of scares me just how much we are all in need of a little bit of extra kindness from an unexpected source. I hope the surgery went OK and that you head into the weekend feeling more uplifted.
