There has been a lot of press lately about the no makeup movement, and some newspapers and magazines seem to really push it. It’s nice to see articles stating, “Ladies! It’s ok to not wear makeup! You still have self-worth if you choose to put down the mascara.”
I have recently been taking mental notes of what is happening with women and makeup. The majority of women I see on the train and in midtown during the work week are wearing little to no makeup. This encompasses women in their 20’s to women in their 60’s. The effort lies is in the hair and clothes, and even without makeup these women look stunning.
There are still women who wear makeup, but they are in the minority.
Has it always been this way, or is the media now only picking up on it? And is it just NYC, or is the trend nationwide?
Either way, I love it!
