My first Halloween in NYC was a fun one.
I arrived in town on an overnight Greyhound bus from somewhere in VA. The production of Sleepy Hollow I was in ended the previous evening, and I didn’t want to spend another night in a farmhouse basement without any heat. So I rushed back to the comforts of my apartment
My friends Andrew and Kelly decided that we should all go to the Halloween Parade in the Village. So I met them at their place, we grabbed a few pints of liquor from Jolson’s Liquors, and headed into Manhattan. I was a pirate, and they were punk rockers in lederhosen.
The parade was a blast, and I was so exhausted when it was over, that I can’t recall what we did afterwards. But, it was the only time I really celebrated Halloween in NYC.
I am thinking, we should plan to walk in the parade next year. That would be a blast!
What do you think, Andrew?
