Crossing The Yellow River

Painted plywood with diamond-shaped Plexiglas windows are a common site in our ever-changing city.

This Tuesday night I was walking by a construction site in SoHo and I noticed that there was a construction guy right up against the plywood wall looking out of the Plexiglas window. His face inches away from the clear plastic. Our eyes met and he smiled.

As I walked past, I looked down and noticed a stream of liquid flowing on the sidewalk, coming from inside the construction site. I quickly stepped over the liquid, realizing that  the construction guy was relieving himself on the plywood while looking out the Plexiglas window.

Three days later, I am still not sure if I should laugh about this or be offended.

Either way, I’m just glad I didn’t step in human feces again.
